Smart bikini warns you of prolonged sun exposure – If a woman has forgotten to sunbathe on the beach without applying sunscreen, her bikini will remind her. A French company has introduced the world's first "smart" bikini, which has a tiny built-in ultraviolet sensor.
When the potentially dangerous solar radiation exceeds a certain limit, the bikini sends a warning message to the mobile phone (where the relevant application is installed) of either the woman herself or her partner, so that she can apply sunscreen or move to the shade.
Spinali Design, based in Mulhouse, eastern France, was created by Marie Spinali, according to the British Telegraph and Daily Mail. The swimsuit, called the “connected bikini,”costs between 150 and 200 euros.
The sensor, which is applied, in addition to bikinis, to full-length swimsuits, takes into account each woman's skin type (i.e. how sensitive it is to the sun) and accordingly warns her with a greater or lesser delay. The sensor can be removed from the swimsuit, while it is completely waterproof.
The company also has a "smart" beach towel with similar capabilities, while it is also preparing a "smart" children's swimsuit, which will warn parents that their child is "baking" in the sun.
The company has prioritized countries with plenty of sunshine and tourist attractions for promoting its products. Greece is obviously among the candidate markets.
The new swimsuits are part of the increasingly popular trend of clothes becoming "smart" and informing those who wear them about various things, mainly about their health.
