In recent hours, Facebook has been filled with malicious messages, displaying supposedly inappropriate videos to entice more users to open them.
The messages arrive with posts on the timelines of unsuspecting users whose names have been added to the malicious post. It all starts with an already infected user and spreads as more and more people try to watch the "inappropriate" videos, which of course don't exist.
If someone tries to watch the video, the scammers will direct them to a website that supposedly resembles YouTube.
If someone presses Play, the video will not start, but they will be asked to install a missing file in order to display the video in question.
If he installs it, the malware will spread to his computer, and it will start making posts on its own using the victim's Facebook account.
He will also add tags from 19 people to each Facebook post, so that as many people as possible will see it.
If you see a message on your "wall", do not click on the link it contains.
If you have already done so, disconnect from the Internet and scan your computer with a reliable and up-to-date antivirus.
If you connect and the problem persists, check the hosts file in Windows' system32, as malware has probably changed it.
