Twitter's live streaming app, Periscope, is now available on Google Play. The social networking site acquired the app in January of this year.

Twitter's Periscope live streaming app is now available on devices , just two months after it was released on the Apple App Store. Twitter acquired Periscope in January of this year and according to the company, at least 1 million users downloaded the app during its first week on the Apple App Store.

Both of these apps offer live broadcasting services via a mobile device. During video playback, users have the ability to comment via messages that appear on the screen.

It should be noted, however, that experts warn that live streaming applications on mobile devices consume a fairly large amount of data and their advice is that users should be careful with the additional charges that will arise.
British journalist Kate Russell, in a statement to the BBC, emphasized:
"I watched a video for about 11 minutes on 4G and used about 250MB." "If you watch a video for about half an hour you will use about 400MB, so you should be careful if you have a small data plan," she added in her statement.
According to a statement by Sarah Heider, a Google engineer, the Periscope app for Android will offer users the ability to continue playing a video they were watching from the exact point at which it may have stopped, due to an incoming call or message.
