Rumors of Google acquiring Twitter

Rumors are that Google is trying to buy the social network Twitter, and April Fool's Day has passed!

The rumors published by the Telegraph indicate that Google wants to buy the online social networking service. This is of course not the first time we have heard something like this.

In 2009, we heard similar allegations again, although both companies refused to comment on the matter.
One thing is for sure, every time such a rumor starts circulating, Twitter's shares go up, and the company's value increases.

The news should come as no surprise, as Twitter has been experiencing continuous growth in recent years, and is trending towards becoming a real-time search engine, along with the well-known microblogging social platform.

The Telegraph reported that two companies (Google and Facebook) are hypothetically trying to buy the social network, and that Google has the most chances.

Google Plus doesn't seem to be as effective against Facebook as it is against Twitter, and it's only natural for Google to want to acquire one of its main competitors. (Of course, it couldn't buy Facebook.)
None of the companies mentioned above have released any official statements so far, and we'll probably have to wait and see if the rumors are true in the first place and if a deal will eventually be struck.

Needless to say, if the rumors are true, then Facebook will get some serious competition.

Be patient and we'll see..
