Retweet with a comment from Twitter!
The new “Retweet with comment” feature allows users to embed a tweet into their own tweets. “Retweet with comment” is essentially a way to bypass Twitter’s for a comment. The feature is available today on Twitter’s website and in the updated iPhone app. The Android app may be updated soon.
To incorporate tweets into retweets until now you had to copy and paste the tweets, truncating characters.
Starting today, you'll be able to do it with the click of a button. The arrival of the new feature was greeted with ironic celebrations by Twitter users, as it's a hack that should have been around for quite some time.
Forcing users to condense their rambling thoughts into dense tweets was one of Twitter's main features.
But as it seems, the platform is maturing, and many influential or even non-influential users need new ways to use Twitter as their main communication platform (without restrictions on their chatter) with their audience, instead of a blog.
A popular way to bypass Twitter's 140-character limit that its users currently use is to post photos with excerpts from articles.
The addition of the new feature shows that the Twitter management team has "read" the needs of the public and is starting to redesign the platform, adding missing features that will make life on the microblogging network easier. We hope that the platform will not lose its character over time, because so far the 140-character limit seems to be working very well.
