And yes, it's true! Yesterday Sony announced that the new Morpheus VR headset will be released in early 2016.
The VR (Virtual Reality) device was presented last year at GDC (Game Developers Conference) and because, as we learned earlier today, Sony needs more time, it announced at this year's GDC that it will be released in the first half of 2016.
The device will feature a 1920x1080 RGB OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The 5.7-inch display will also feature a 100-degree field of view. It will also use nine LEDs for position detection. Sony also said the device will have ultra-low latency, which is key to a flawless virtual reality experience.
One feature that's nice is the ability to push the headset away from your face to peek into the real world, without having to completely remove the headset.
The company didn't mention anything about the price of the device. But, you have time to save until 2016.
