Artificial Intelligence: Potentially more dangerous than nuclear weapons

artificial intelligenceA very interesting article appears in the French newspaper, Le Monde, according to which the artificial intelligence It evolves to such an extent that in the coming years it will manage to kill money. The editors of the article even believe that in the coming decades it will reach such levels that it will become even more dangerous than nuclear weapons. The article begins by saying that «for a long period, A.I. (artificial intelligence) was more than science fiction», however now it considers it only a matter of time until it becomes reality. As it claims, within the next decades it is likely that there will be A.I. superior to ours. The internet giants, Google, Apple, Facebook and Amazon, as well as IBM, have already massively invested in the field of A.I.

Google engineer Ray Kurzweil believes that an A.I. with self-awareness, which will be a billion times more powerful than all human brains on the planet, will crush human intelligence by 2045.

Elon Musk of Tesla and SpaceX argues that «artificial intelligence is potentially more dangerous» than nuclear weapons. Moreover, to compete with robots, Google proposes converting humans into cyborgs, i.e., humanoid robots.

Kurzweil predicts that, by 2035, we will have nanobot implants in our brains and they will connect to our neurons to “upgrade» both our mental as well as our physical abilities. The purpose will be to not be very inferior to machines and thus not become slaves of the machines.

Paradoxically, this tool for preventing the subjugation of the human race will also be the means of its own suicide, as the human-AI hybrid would mean the death of the biological human. AI could also cause another significant loss: money.

In today’s society, differences in people’s intellectual abilities result in both wage gaps and capital gaps. Artificial intelligence will dissolve this concept, as human intelligence will be compared to machines.

After all, how will the person who has 1,000 higher intelligence than they have today be rewarded? Also, a society that is guided by artificial intelligence will be a society without work, which will render the simple function of money useless.

If every person has in their brain the chip with endless information and knowledge, among them for example treatments for cancer, what meaning does an oncologist have? All products and services will be created and produced by machines much more efficiently, so the meritocratic system will disappear. Capitalism will not survive the intelligent machines.
