A start-up company created by Jon von Tetzchner, co-founder and former CEO of Opera, is preparing a browser that will compete with Microsoft's new Spartan , constituting the natural continuation of the Opera browser.
The new browser, called Vivaldi, is currently available as a technical preview for Windows, Mac, or Linux. It will soon feature syncing, email, better performance, and various extensions.
It has a number of features that are already familiar to Opera users, such as Speed Dial, which provides direct access to the most frequently visited websites, and the ability to navigate using mouse gestures.
It incorporates new features that allow the collection of multiple tabs together into one for user convenience and quick categorization of similar topics without filling up space.
It also provides the ability to take notes within the browser along with automatic screenshot taking. In a short time, it will be possible to create a contact list within VivaΙdi and send emails through its own service.
Its features will be co-designed by the community and based on user demand.
