The Italian Competition Commission has fined TripAdvisor 500,000 euros for hosting reviews that were supposedly all from tourists, but in reality, some were posted by tourism professionals
The website has been the subject of numerous complaints, while TripAdvisor insists that “the reviews are genuine and honest.”
Now the company will have to pay the fine within 30 days.
