The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate successfully held a conference in Arta, on the topic of "High-Risk Online Behaviors"
The Ministry of Public Order and Citizen Protection, in collaboration with the Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime, organized yesterday (24-11-2014), at the Skoufa Hall in Arta, a seminar on safe surfing on the internet.
The conference on "High-Risk Online Behaviors" was attended by the Director of the Cybercrime Prosecution, Brigadier General Emmanouil Sfakianakis, as well as specialized officers of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, who informed students, parents, teachers and other interested parties about the possibilities, but also the dangers, of the internet.
In particular, the themes developed were:
- The mission of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate.
- The purpose of organizing the workshops.
- Crimes and the way they are committed online, as well as prevention practices.
- The phenomena of online violence, the dangers posed by social networking sites and, in general, the prevention and treatment of risks associated with new technologies.
- Statistical data concerning the penetration of Greeks into the internet, as well as the cases that the Cybercrime Prosecution Service is called upon to deal with.
The aim was to promote the new innovative CYBERKID alongside the activities of the Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate, which includes the prevention, investigation and suppression of crimes and antisocial behaviors committed via the internet or other means of electronic communication, as well as to inform participants about ways to address the challenges of the digital world and adapt to new data.
