In an attempt to somewhat boost Kindle Fire sales (which have stopped rising) and to take advantage of its purchase of "The Washington Post" in 2013 for $250 million, Amazon announced that it will give free access to its digital edition for 6 months to owners of these devices.
Users will be able to read over 200 articles every day for free, and after the first six months, they will be able to have the same unlimited access for just $1 per month. After the second six months, access will cost around $3 or $4 per month, while The Washington Post app is already available for download from the Amazon Store.
It is worth mentioning that Amazon 's tablets that have been sold are estimated at 22.7 million, but the company's share is on a downward trend as competition has intensified in recent months, with many manufacturers entering the "game" and prices falling.
