Not a week goes by without a new incident involving a drone, the new remote-controlled aircraft with 4 propellers. Some are fanatical fans of these gadgets and consider them very useful, while others fear their ability to move everywhere and sometimes with secrecy.
On top of that, NASA seems to be working on a project where once the drone hits the ground it becomes one with it, making it even harder to detect. This is called biodegradation and we are quite far from this technology. What is happening now is that the prices of these gadgets have dropped enough that anyone can get one.
Drones in a restricted area
Authorities receive complaints almost daily from citizens who are bothered by drones near them. In London, drones were reported flying in a prohibited area, as reported by the BBC, as well as a drone that flew towards Chancellor Angela Merkel, apparently as a sign of protest by its operator, threatening her physical safety .
It is quite difficult to find out who is flying the drone and what it is for. The Lords Internal Market, Infrastructure and Employment Committee, in London, is conducting an inquiry into how people use these “remotely piloted aircraft”. Those who complain are not necessarily victims of any criminal activity. However, it is illegal to fly a drone outside of a bedroom for any reason.
