At Samsung in San Francisco last week, the company made a few announcements about its current projects, from virtual reality to connected home and health devices. During the keynote, Samsung Flow was introduced for the first time. Flow will allow for seamless connectivity between Samsung devices, whether they're smartphones, TVs, tablets, or even smartwatches.
Samsung Flow features
Samsung Flow has three main functions and these are, Transfer, Defer and Notify. Transfer doesn't need much explanation because as the word suggests, it will allow users to transfer content from one Samsung device to another, whether it's an image or a video call or a web page.
With Defer, users are allowed to pause an activity and pick it up later, from where they left off, on another Samsung device. So, for example, if you’re using a smartphone to work on a spreadsheet, you can postpone it and pick it up when you’re back at your desk on your tablet. This also works with media. So it will be possible to pause a movie you’re watching on a smartphone or tablet and pick it up where you left off on a Samsung TV.
Finally, the Notify function is what the word suggests. Notifications about the low battery indicator of the mobile phone, as well as calls, will be able to come through the Samsung TV, if, for example, the mobile phone is in another room.
It has not yet been announced when the Samsung Flow system will be available and how we will be able to have it on all Samsung devices, so that we can take advantage of this new technology.
