Taxibeat introduces a new service for sending items within Athens. The new service is called "Taxibeat Boxi" and operates as an upgrade to the door-to-door service for sending unaccompanied persons within the city, which was launched last year.
The user, upon opening the Taxibeat application, sees two options: TAXI and BOXI. Through TAXI, he calls a free taxi to move himself. Through BOXI, he can send items within the city with one of the fleet's taxis, as has been the case until now, but not only: Now, the door-to-door fleet is expanding and item shipments are also carried out with two-wheelers. By adding two-wheelers to the fleet, Taxibeat offers:
- Larger fleet of vehicles and therefore, better coverage throughout Athens
- More vehicle flexibility and access
- More affordable prices for the public, from 0.85 euros/km
Taxibeat's fleet of drivers will transport any item quickly and safely, throughout Athens, from door to door. These are items that do not have the characteristics of a postal item, usually items that we send to acquaintances, friends and associates that we trust. The ambition of the new service is for the items to be delivered to their destination within one hour from the moment the customer calls.
How it works
The user, who can be either the sender or the recipient, selects the type of vehicle based on the volume and weight of the item. Small items are transported more easily and economically by bicycle, while larger, fragile or heavy items are transported by car.
Taxibeat calculates the total cost of the shipment in advance, depending on the type of vehicle and the distance. Payment is made either by the sender or the recipient, in cash or electronically, via card or PayPal.
The sender enters all the necessary information (receipt address, delivery address, telephone numbers, etc.).
Taxibeat sends a driver and the service user can monitor the progress of the shipment step by step, up to delivery, through the application.
Taxibeat Boxi is available through the free Taxibeat application, for iOS and Android devices.
