Nine of our customers have complained about bent iPhone 6s, the company responds – The new iOS 8.0.2 update has been released – Endless trolling on Twitter
Apple's stock has lost an estimated $23 billion in recent days, following the uproar over bending iPhones and problems with the new iOS 8 software and the upgrade.
A few hours before the company released the new update, iOS 8.0.2 at midnight on Thursday, its stock fell 3.81% on Wall Street.
Also on Thursday, the company commented for the first time on reports of iPhones bending, claiming through a spokesperson that "with normal use, bending an iPhone is extremely rare, and during the first six days of sales, a total of just nine customers contacted Apple to report that their iPhone 6 Plus had bent.".
According to the company, more than 10 million phones were sold over the weekend. The number of users who experienced a software problem is estimated at 40,000.
Meanwhile, the jokes and trolling on Twitter with the hashtag #bendgate are endless.
Samsung tweeted a photo of its new model with the caption "We have curves, we don't bend," BlackBerry boss John Chen said "I dare you to bend our new Passport," while Nestle, the owner of Kit-Kat chocolate, tweeted the slogan "We don't bend, we break," referencing its famous slogan "Have a break, have a Kit-Kat.".
