Anonymous hacktivists threaten World Cup sponsors with hacking attacks.
Hacker Che Commodore says the attacks are a show of solidarity with protesters in Brazil, who are outraged by the funds being channeled to build stadiums to host football matches, while improving local infrastructure and transportation systems is necessary.
“We have already been doing nightly checks to see which of the websites are most vulnerable,” Commodore told Reuters. “We have a plan of attack.”
“This time we are targeting the sponsors of the World Cup,” he added in a Skype conversation with the news agency from an undisclosed location in Brazil. The hacker cited Adidas, airline Emirates, Coca-Cola Co and Budweiser as possible targets.

Jason Hart, VP Cloud Solutions at SafeNet, said that businesses, consumers and broadcasters should be screened for security threats.
It also states that the World Cup event will now be more technology-based and therefore subject to more hacking attacks, threats and data breaches than any other sporting event. Brazil's ability to host a sporting event has been questioned, and the readiness of its physical, IT and network infrastructure will need to be scrutinized.
Ashish Patel, regional director of network security at McAfee, suspects that hackers have already begun preparing to carry out the attacks.
Finally, he added that the threat from "Anonymous" is serious and should be taken seriously.
