Google has announced the availability of the64bit version of the Chrome for Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1, with an emphasis on faster and safer web browsing.
Currently, 64bit Chrome is available in the Dev and Canary,” with the latter option having the latest browser updates before it is released in a stable version.
The new 64bit Chrome will take advantage of modern processors with 64bit architecture and, in combination with a compatible operating system (Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1), will be up to 25% faster in its operation and in terms of web browsing, as well as the response to the operating system.
Also, the 64bit architecture will offer greater security by using High Entropy ASLR in Windows 8, while being more resistant to online attacks and just-in-time compilations.
Finally, according to Google, the new browser will be more stable than the 32bit version, with crashes having been minimized.
