We can't blame anyone for not knowing about the OpenSSL malware . In this case, a new spam campaign is trying to trick Windows users into running a HeartBleed Bug/Virus Removal Tool on their computers.
To begin with, the email will likely look legitimate. As Symantec points out, the spam campaign contains several elements that do not indicate its malicious intentions, starting with the subject of the message and ending with the attached file.
The security company urges users to be wary whenever they open an email that asks for personal information, as well as emails that contain attached files with instructions for running a program.
