A new version of the Tor web browser is available for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux, while a new version of BitTorrent Sync has been released for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Both updates include performance improvements and fixes.
Tor Browser Bundle 3.6.1 updates HTTPS – Everywhere to 3.5.1. NoScript has been upgraded to 2.6.8.22 and all proxy configuration issues affecting non-logged-in users have been addressed.
One of the reported fixes includes the ability to configure the Tor while PTs are present. The developers also note, “Pluggable Transports has not been updated to support proxy configuration yet.” Download links are available below for all supported platforms.
BitTorrent Sync for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad 1.3.40 is a much smaller update that only brings minor fixes and localization improvements. Despite the promise that version 1.3.40 will provide local language support, the description states that BitTorrent Sync only supports English.
The file transfer utility works with educational devices that can support iOS 6.0 or later, including iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPad second generation, iPad third generation, iPad fourth generation, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display, iPod touch fourth generation, and iPod touch fifth generation.
