Facebook paid $1.5 million in 2013 for security issues

Some notable facts about this program, which concern the year 2013, are the following:

– There were a total of 14,763 developer security requests , a 246% increase over 2012. – Of these, 687 were deemed valid and selected for payment. – 6% of valid bugs were deemed high-priority bugs and were addressed on average within 6 hours of being read. – A total of $1.5 million was spent on 330 developers worldwide. The average payment was $2,204 per person.


Some additional important features of the program are the following:

– The highest payout for the program to date is $33,500 , awarded to Reginaldo Silva . – Developers in Russia receive the highest payouts, earning an average of $3,961 for each of their 38 bugs . – Developers in India submit the most requests, with 136 requests and an average payout of $1,353 for each .
