American propaganda in Cuba becomes... social

The... revolution on the island via «humanitarian» platform of social networking!

The ongoing challenges and harassment by the American government against the Castle regime show no signs of stopping, and now a new, comic‑tragic story is coming into the public eye.

The federal and charitable service of the USA was therefore behind the effort “renegotiating the balance of power between state and society» in Abana, a dark network of shortlogies from American government officials, technology industry executives, contractors and intermediaries who wanted to spark social unrest on the very troubled island.

It is not a secret that the USA can go very far to expand -and maintain- their dominance on the planet, although now they do so by further developing their propaganda mechanism.

kkccastofeee1They called it ZunZuneo - a word that in Cuban slang means the chirping of a nightingale - and it was a social networking network with dark purposes: the secret operation began by sending innocent news and comments about football and music topics via written messages, in order to attract the Cuban audience.

When the service caught on and gathered about 40,000 followers (the social network looked a lot like Twitter), the moment was ideal for the second phase of the plan: the administrators of the social network began to «inject political content aimed at inspiring Cubans to create ”smart crowds” and mass protests at the moment, something that could trigger the Cuban Spring».

kkccastofeee3The social application was indeed created in 2010 by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the renowned government agency that is known for its humanitarian work in developing countries(!) and not for its involvement in the internal affairs of other nations.

The USAID collaborated with a series of intermediaries from the technology industry, all based in Washington, to implement ZunZuneo and also to promote the new medium in Cuban society. USAID even tried to involve the founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, in the case, asking for his advice on how the new “humanitarian” social networking platform for Cuba should be set up! Dorsey refused to make any comment.

kkccastofeee2Internet access in Cuba is notoriously difficult, and thus the ZunZuneo operation was organized through a massive dispatch of written messages to the phones of «simple people». Even a popular Cuban artist was hired by the dark consortium, the comedian Alen Lauzan Falcon, to craft the messages in «Cuban style». Falcon therefore began sending innocent questions to members of the Cuban ZunZuneo and receiving up to 10,000 answers to each «titivism» of his.

Soon the program that ran behind the innocent platform was able to harvest personal information about the political dissenters who emerged through ZunZuneo, although it was obviously far removed from the Cuban Spring that its founders dreamed of.

kkccastofeee5And so, two years after its launch, ZunZuneo was rapidly heading towards its removal from the internet, as USAID allegedly «ran out of funds». However, the reality of the unexpected end of the popular ZunZuneo in 2012 was slightly different: it closed because it did not achieve all its propaganda purposes and the incitement of the coveted revolution!

In its in‑depth investigation, AP conducted dozens of interviews and uncovered more than 1,000 pages of secret documents to reveal the incredible case of how agents of the American government, working under a regime of total secrecy, turned into technology innovators and visionaries in Cuba!

kkccastofeee4And of course everything started with the interception of half a million mobile phone numbers from the communist regime of Cuba…
