It seems that the salaries in Facebook's leadership team are not at all "merit-based", as, as the company itself announced, a woman is the one receiving the highest salary, higher than Zuckerberg himself.
A document published by the company itself reveals that Mark Zuckerberg is paid a symbolic salary, around half a million euros, which covers his professional expenses.
The big money ends up with Facebook's number 2, Sheryl Sandberg, who hasn't even been in the position of COO for a year.
The reason is simple, as the 44-year-old was the bone of contention between Facebook and Google and Zuckerberg had to pay her a salary that exceeds 12 million per year.
It is noteworthy that she is the only woman among the company's eight-member board of directors.
