A few days ago, Google updated its rules for Android app developers and banned "erotic" apps.
As expected, pornographic apps and content (books) are already absent from Google Play, but several still fall foul of Google's rules. For example, a search for the word "sexy" yields "strange results" for Google to allow them.
Thousands of apps with photos and wallpapers containing provocative poses will have to be removed under the new rules, since the word "erotic" is a broad term.
Along with this addition, Google become much stricter about how apps are allowed to be promoted. Specifically, the use of misleading ads on third-party sites, forcing an app download without the user's permission , and promotion via SMS will now be prohibited.
Finally, games that have in-app purchases will be required to clearly state in the description and will have special markings.
With all of the above measures, Google is trying to bring order to the Play Store.
