ClipperCMS is a version of MODx Evolution CMS, the old, original MODx CMS. It was created to improve and upgrade MODx and is a good alternative to MODx Revolution, the official new part of MODx.
ClipperCMS is developed via GitHub and the developers are willing to provide a trial version for review.
As you can see, ClipperCMS and MODx Evolution are not very different, the only major difference is in the code. ClipperCMS is upgraded to work better with the latest technologies and coding standards.
The CMS is very well designed, maintaining the same look and feel in the admin panel as the older MODx version. Most of the important MODx features are supported, starting with support for themes, plugins, packages, reusable code sections, templates, modules and so on.
