The first mobile phones with Ubuntu software are expected to be released on the market in 2014, as announced by Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth.
Shuttleworth also revealed the manufacturers of these phones: They are the Spanish BQ and the Chinese Meizu.
Images of a Meizu MX3 mobile phone running a mobile-adapted Ubuntu operating system have already been leaked online, and it is possible that the company's next model will launch this operating system.
Canonical's goal is to have the top 50 mobile apps ported to Ubuntu by the end of the year
