Google in the fight against deforestation: Monitoring the planet's green [video]

It is no secret that Google cares about the environment, and recently introduced a new program that aims to raise awareness among the global public about deforestation.

It is about Forest Watch, a global search map that allows users to monitor deforestation on a massive scale.

If, for example, you want to see how much Brazil's tropical forest has decreased, or even where reforestation has taken place, the «green» map of Google has it all.

Also, the website's interactive map allows users to see exactly which industries cause the greatest environmental destruction in forests.
