Microsoft has just announced that multi-factor authentication is now available to all Office 365 users, after debuting in June 2013, which only affected administrators.
The new option will be offered to all users at no additional charge or registration. It will also include multiple options, including mobile and landline phone calls or text messages, app notifications and one‑time codes that appear in apps.
The company explains that once a user has enabled multi-factor authentication, they will need to set up the second authentication factor the next time they log in. Each subsequent login will require the use of the password and the identified phone number.
