By utilizing conventional optical fibers, British scientists have managed to create the fastest Internet connection in the world at a speed of 1.4 terabits per second.
The team managed to build this line using fiber optic cable and new software, codenamed Flexigrid, and within it they managed to achieve multiple simultaneous data transmissions (seven parallel connections of 200 gigabits per second each) on a single network, which apparently helped boost connectivity by 42.5%, compared to previous efforts.
In this way, telecommunications companies are helped to provide users with faster Internet, without replacing networks.
Finally, despite this record, Britain remains far behind other countries in broadband services.
