Amazon Prime: These are the free games of August

Amazon has revealed the full list of games that for free Amazon Prime in August members can get . The offering includes a variety of titles, from RPGs and adventures to simulations and indie titles, giving gamers plenty of options to expand their collection.

The games are released gradually throughout the month, with some titles already available and others added on August 20 and 27. This practice has now become a permanent part of Prime benefits and offers subscribers an easy way to get new games without having to wait for a big sale.

Doesn't work like Game Pass

One major thing that differentiates Amazon's service from similar subscription platforms is how users get their games. Amazon Luna, previously known as Prime Gaming, doesn't work quite like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass.

Depending on the title, subscribers receive a code that can be redeemed on different platforms on their computer. This way, the game is added to the corresponding account's library and remains available even if the user later decides to cancel their Amazon Prime subscription.

This difference is particularly important for those who prefer to create a permanent digital library rather than having access to a catalog only for as long as they pay a subscription.

The games that are already available

August kicked off with five titles that subscribers can already redeem. Among them is Steelrising, an action RPG with a steampunk aesthetic, as well as Airship: Kingdoms Adrift, a title that combines exploration, management, and aerial combat in a world full of flying boats.

  • Pyramids and Aliens: Escape Room — GOG
  • Airship: Kingdoms Adrift — Epic Games Store

What's coming on August 20th

The second phase of the offers is scheduled for August 20. Two new titles will be added then, further expanding subscribers' choices.

New games on August 27th

The month concludes with two more additions on August 27. Havendock, available through the Amazon Games app, focuses on building and managing a sea colony, offering survival and resource management elements.

Meanwhile, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, via the Epic Games Store, is coming to add more action and exploration to the August collection.

A collection with different options

This year's August offer shows that Amazon continues to invest in the diversity of its catalog, rather than limiting itself to high-budget games. The presence of titles from different genres can act as an opportunity for subscribers to discover productions that they probably wouldn't buy individually.

For Prime users, the most important thing is to redeem available codes in a timely manner and check which platform each game is offered. This way, they can build a larger collection of games that will remain in their possession even after the subscription ends.
