Selfie, the word of the year and it seems that few people are now escaping“mania” . The question is, however, what happens when another photographer notices them while taking the photo. The recent example of the selfie, taken by ND MP Andreas Psycharis, inside the Greek parliament and causing various comments on social media, is not the only one that is causing discussions… Now comes a new selfie of Barack Obama that is making the “round the world” and, beyond the “funny” of the thing, it is causing further comments…
The photo that Barack Obama attempted to take with his cell phone, along with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, David Cameron, and the Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, was "captured" by the lens of photographer, Roberto Schmidt, and, somehow, there is a lot of discussion, especially since it was taken during the memorial service for Nelson Mandela.
There are many who comment on the "priorities" of the American president in a moment of "mourning" for the great South African leader, while, at the same time, the handshake he exchanged with Cuban President Raul Castro also brought comments from conservatives who do not want to discuss speculation about a warming of relations between the two countries.
Some others, however, did not hesitate to make the reporting even more “yellow”, making references to the style of Michele Obama, who did not participate in Barack Obama's selfie, but it seems she had a lot of “nerves” in the photo…
And while all this is happening, another (former) American president, George W. Bush, was photographed, again at the Mandela memorial, with Bono and uploaded the photo to Instagram. Gestures that show the “morals” and habits of the times, but, sometimes, timing is not the best possible…
