Intel has acquired Hacker League, a popular platform used to organize and manage hackathons.
Hackathons are events where programmers interact to create and implement new ideas in the field of technology. Hacker League has organized more than 450 events to its credit.
The Hacker League confirmed the agreement with an official announcement on its website, clarifying that its merger with Mashery, a company owned by Intel since last April and which participates in more than 60 hackathons each year, has been set.
Intel will likely use the Hacker League platform to organize its own hackathons - which focus on the hardware sector - while Mashery may use it to promote and strengthen its business activity.
The financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
