The PlayStation 4 will be released in some European countries at midnight on November 29th, and Sony has decided to disable some of the PlayStation Network features to make sure the online service can handle the pressure of new players.

The PS4 was released in North America on November 15th, and immediately the PlayStation Network online service was unable to handle the influx of new users, resulting in numerous errors and long loading times.

As for the console's release in Europe, Sony decided to make it safer and confirmed via the PS blog that some services will not be available in the coming days, so that PSN remains as stable as possible.

See the list of services that will be disabled:

What's new – Discover and develop relationships with all your friends on PS4

Information screen content – View your friends' activity and special information for the title you are searching for

These features will return after the network decongestion. Sony said that the remaining services will operate normally.
