One by one, the tech giants are taking their place in the battle of wearables , and so after Microsoft , it's Samsung 's turn to engage the press with its own smart glasses under development.
The revelation was made through a patent that the company filed with Korean authorities earlier this month.
The plans and information provided to the authorities concern a pair of Google Glass that will be worn mainly during sporting activities.
According to the information accompanying the filed patent, “The design depicts a type of glasses with built-in headphones that allow the user to receive phone calls and enjoy music while exercising.”
The glasses will connect to a smartphone (reminiscent of the Galaxy Gear) and display notifications, freeing the user's hands to engage in a sporting activity. The lenses of the glasses will be transparent or translucent.
It seems that the smartphone market has discovered a gold mine with wearables, although the implementation of the projects is "stuck" in technical difficulties such as manufacturing batteries for such devices.
Recently, LG Chem , which manufactures batteries for Apple and LG devices , introduced a type of battery in the form of a cable for use in wearable devices.
