Google agrees to $135 million settlement over Android user data collection.
A class action lawsuit against Google alleges that the company collected mobile data without users' permission, even when the company's apps were closed, location sharing was turned off and users' screens were locked. Android users could receive up to $100 each in damages, under the $135 million settlement.

In addition to compensation, Google has also agreed to:
- makes it easier for users to stop mobile data transfers,
- asks users for consent to transfer data during device setup
- discloses data transfers in Google Play
Class action members who can seek compensation include anyone who used an Android mobile device since November 12, 2017.
Although Google has agreed to the settlement, it has denied any wrongdoing related to the lawsuit.
