1Password: How the new feature works
When a 1Password user clicks on a link and opens a website with a URL that doesn't match the one they've saved with their login details, the 1Password browser extension will do two things. It won't autofill the login credentials , and it will display a warning explaining that the current website URL "does not associate with a 1Password login."
This feature doesn't completely prevent phishing attacks. Users can still choose to manually copy and paste their credentials into a suspicious website. However, it will alert them that they may be facing a phishing scam in the hopes that they'll think twice and be more careful before proceeding.
