Three individuals were arrested on Wednesday morning in areas of Attica, following a systematic operation by law enforcement authorities, for possessing and distributing "hard" child pornography material via the internet.
The arrests were made following targeted and extensive online digital investigations carried out by the Economic Police and Cybercrime Prosecution Service, with the aim of combating the trafficking of child pornography via the internet.
Specifically, the online police investigation revealed that:
1. A 46-year-old man in Nea Erythraia, for a period of approximately 5 months, using different and unique IP addresses, possessed and distributed through special programs on the internet at least 386 files of child pornography.
2. A 29-year-old man in Kamatero, for a period of approximately 5 months, using different and unique IP addresses, possessed and distributed through special programs on the internet at least 487 files of child pornography.
3. Finally, for a 25-year-old, also in Kamatero, it emerged that for a period of approximately 8 months, using different and unique IP addresses, he possessed and distributed through special programs on the internet at least 272 files of child pornography.
In searches carried out at the homes of those arrested, internal computer hard drives were located, on which, after an on-site inspection, hundreds of files (videos and photographs) of hard-core child pornography material were found.
The seized evidence will be sent to the Criminal Investigations Directorate for laboratory tests, in order to examine and determine the exact number of files, their type and the date they were overloaded.
At the same time, it is being investigated whether part of these files were created - filmed in Greece.
It is noted that the arrested were taken to the Athens First Instance Prosecutor's Office on Thursday.
