The American company satisfied 90% of the requests, without providing the content that users circulated.
Ten requests, concerning the data of 64 users, were submitted by the Greek authorities to Microsoft in the first half of 2013. This is revealed in the Transparency Report published by the American company, which includes the requests it received worldwide for members of its services, including Skype.
In the case of Greece, the report states that Microsoft complied with 9 requests (90%), disclosing the requested data “outside the context” – that is, information such as user names, IP addresses and gender. 1 request could not be complied with, due to lack of information.
In total, the American giant received 37,196 requests for 66,500 users. Of these, it satisfied 2.2% by also transferring the content that the users circulated, while in 77% of cases it only transferred the remaining data.
