Christie's auction house will auction the original 1976 partnership contract that created the Apple Computer Company, valuing it at between $2 million and $4 million.

The three-page document, signed by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ron Wayne, set Apple's initial stakes at 45 percent, 45 percent and 10 percent, respectively, before Wayne sold his stake for $800 a few days later.

Christie's will offer Wayne's founding contract and severance agreement as a single package at the January 23, 2026.

Wayne became famous when he decided to leave after realizing that he was the only one of the three who had any assets at the time and therefore could bear all the blame if the company failed. If he had kept his stake, he would be worth $400 billion today.
