Multiple Iranian nationals have been charged with criminal acts related to the hacking attack on former President Donald Trump's 2024 election campaign.

US security agencies have revealed that the stolen material was also shared with people associated with Biden's re-election campaign, without evidence of their participation in the Iranian messages.

US authorities, including the FBI and the Cybersecurity Agency, confirmed the involvement of Iran, which also attempted to hack into Biden's campaign email accounts.

Matthew Olsen, head of the DOJ's National Security Division, said Iran's efforts are more aggressive this year, believing the election will affect its national interests.
