The forum sees activity on a daily basis, with nearly 890,000 posts since their inception, and there are users there with badges of participation, reactions, and all the other elements of a good and valuable community forum.
“ The Community Forum will be closing on June 27, 2024. Please visit att.com/support for all support needs ,” the carrier’s warning now reads, indicating that community forum users will have to deal with a relatively slow and unwieldy employee in the customer support channel
According to a statement from the company to Light Reading, everything will be for the benefit of AT&T's customer base.

There's probably no direct connection , but AT&T just followed T-Mobile 's plan price hike and announced that it will increase the monthly payment on its old plans by $10/month .

Needless to say, AT&T subscribers on older plans who loved their contracts weren't thrilled with the decision, and some took to the Community Forums to talk about the plan price increases.
However, the decision to shut down the community forum site and move its 1.6 million strong user base to the regular AT&T support channel was likely made well before the announcement of the price increase for old plans.

AT&T is looking to cut costs and increase revenue, and recently announced a 3-year plan to save $2 billion in expenses, so the closure of community forums is likely just collateral damage from restructuring business costs, and not some nefarious scheme to silence its subscribers amid price hikes.
