HMG Healthcare, a leading healthcare provider in Texas, fell victim to a cyberattack last summer, leading to a breach of customer data.
According to the announcement , the data breach took place in August 2023, but only became known in November.

Hackers stole unencrypted data from the company's servers. Some of this information is:
- Names
- Dates of birth
- Contact information
- Health information
- Information about medical care
- Social Security numbers and/or employment records.
HMG Healthcare is investigating the incident, but has not discovered who is behind this attack. However, the breach was stopped once it was noticed.

We also don't know how many people have been affected by this data breach. According to HMG Healthcare's website, the company has around 3,500 patients and 4,100 employees. If data was stolen from the employees and customers , then the number of people affected could be in the tens of thousands.
