A leaker says that Apple is completely changing the way straps attach to the Apple Watch Series X, making all existing straps incompatible.

Previously, rumors circulated that the new Apple Watches due out in 2024 would feature a major redesign to celebrate the device. Specifically, it has already been claimed that the Apple Watch Series 10 or perhaps the Apple Watch Series X will replace the way the straps attach.
Leaker Kosutami has tweeted that he is certain that a major change is coming to the next generation of the Apple Watch. It is unclear whether this information comes from the leaker's own research or is a repeat of a previous rumor.
Although Kosutami didn't provide any further details, despite desperate questions from commenters on the Twitter/X thread. However, while there are no other details, he has previously accurately leaked details about the FineWoven bands before they were released. Kosutami also incorrectly claimed that the iPhone 15 series would feature braided USB-C.

Before that, Kosutami leaked information about unused color options that Apple had considered for a MagSafe, but ultimately rejected. However, it appears that the leaker has at least some access to Design Validation Test models of some Apple devices.
The claim that this change will apply to the next-generation Apple Watch could mean that the Apple Watch Ultra will feature the same design change. It's unlikely that Apple would implement such a major redesign on the Series 10 but not the Ultra, although it wouldn't be unexpected. Recent reports suggest that there won't be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 in 2024.
Previous rumors about the change in the way the straps attach to the Apple Watch indicated that the new system would be magnetic.
