Valve strongly urges Steam Deck users not to inhale the fumes emitted by the device .
In a Reddit post on December 12, a user shared that he received an official response from Steam Support about whether it was “safe to breathe in the vapor emissions from the device.” Three days later, Steam Support put an end to the discussion.

“As with all electronic devices, it is not recommended to inhale the fumes emitted by your device,” Steam Support responded. “While there are no safety concerns during normal use, you should avoid inhaling the fumes from your device on a regular basis. We understand that this may seem unlikely, but please refrain from adopting this behavior for health and safety.”
As for the impressive basis for this decision, we haven't found any reports confirming that inhaling the hot air produced by portable electronic devices can have long-term negative effects. However, that doesn't mean that turning up the temperature of your Steam Deck is completely safe.
