Apple has announced that AirPods users can now purchase the USB-C case for AirPods Pro 2 separately for €110 euros.

For those who have been eyeing the latest AirPods Pro 2 with their new USB-C port, but have already purchased the Lightning port and can't justify the extra $280 to upgrade to USB-C from the Lightning connector, there's good news.
Apple is offering the USB-C case for AirPods Pro 2 as a separate accessory for existing users.
Apple is offering the MagSafe case for $100, making it a good deal for someone who already has the second-generation AirPods Pro with the Lightning connector. After all, when you buy the USB-C case, you can swap out your AirPods 2 earbuds and place them in the new case; there's no change in dimensions or anything like that. So if you were thinking of spending $280 on a new pair, Apple might have saved you almost $170.
You can visit Apple's website to purchase the new case, as it's already listed in the store. However, if you want your AirPods engraved, you can't do that when you buy the case separately. Your only option is to buy a brand new pair.

Also, if you're thinking about buying it for your old first-generation AirPods Pro — don't. Apple has explicitly listed that these are for the second-generation pair only. "The charging case is compatible with AirPods Pro (2nd generation) that originally shipped with either the MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C) or the MagSafe Charging Case (Lightning)," Apple notes.
It's important to note that this isn't the first time Apple has offered a separate case for users. Previously, when it brought MagSafe charging to AirPods, it began offering a conventional case for the first-generation AirPods Pro.
