Floating homes are special in themselves, but things get even more interesting when we talk about an electric houseboat that uses solar energy. Living on water and never having to pay for fuel may sound like a dream to many people. And China seems to want to make that dream a reality, although this is not the first time we've seen this idea.
But the houseboat being sold through Alibaba really does look like something someone could live in. It's largely surrounded by glass walls, so it doesn't create claustrophobia, while still offering unobstructed views of the vast sea.
The main space appears to be a combination of a living room and small kitchen.

There is, in fact, a beautiful little terrace off the living room. At the opposite end of the boat there is a smaller terrace off the bedroom.
However, Alibaba’s page doesn’t give us much information about the electric propulsion system. We know that an electric outboard motor powers the houseboat, but there are no details about the model or power of the motor. There’s also very little information about the batteries.

On top, there is an array of solar panels. Again, there is little information about their power although the panel looks quite large and therefore it is likely to provide all the necessary power to run the daily needs on the houseboat.

It is worth noting that these types of boats do not travel for very long periods or cover long distances, so the panels may be suitable for shorter trips on the lake or river. Obviously, however, with a single charge, you will be able to make longer trips.
The houseboat is priced at $130,000.
However, as electrek.co reports, it's good to be wary of the strange electric vehicles that appear on Alibaba. This houseboat looks nice, but we can't know if it would arrive at our door like that!

However, floating homes are gaining more and more people and travelers who have a more alternative philosophy. A floating home like the one presented on the Alibaba site offers many advantages. One of the main advantages is the use of solar energy to generate electricity .Solar energy is a renewable source, which means that solar-electric floating homes can operate without depending on traditional energy sources such as oil or natural gas.

Another advantage is the reduction of hazardous gas emissions into the environment.
Finally, the use of floating homes offers a sustainable alternative for housing and recreation. These homes can operate autonomously, without the need for connection to an electrical grid .This allows them to be flexible and travel to different areas, providing a sustainable lifestyle in alternative housing.
