This information comes from Weibo. We are not very familiar with this informant, so take the information with a grain of salt.
Weibo claims that Xiaomi is progressing very well with the development of the MIX Flip. In fact, it seems to believe that the device will be released before the Xiaomi MIX Fold 4.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 was released in August this year, so its successor is expected around the same time next year. This would mean that the Xiaomi MIX Flip, or whatever name Xiaomi chooses, could be released before that.

Xiaomi could always choose to release them at the same time, regardless of the fact that developments are ahead of the MIX Fold. Another thing worth noting is that Xiaomi could choose the name MIX Flip 4, simply to unify the names of the two phones.

The latest piece of information shared by the tipster is actually a question. He asked his followers if they would be interested in the Xiaomi MIX Flip if it ends up being equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
We're not sure if he heard anything about using this SoC, or if he's just guessing. This processor is still extremely powerful, as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was released very recently. This probably wouldn't be a problem for many people, despite the fact that it's no longer the latest and greatest. Of course, price will also play a role.

It's about time Xiaomi introduced a phone with a foldable screen. Foldable clamshell phones seem to be more popular than foldable books, and it's a nice sight to see Xiaomi join that league.
