Since 2020, YouTube has been giving Premium subscribers a sneak peek at what it's up to, rather than randomly selecting Google to try out experimental features and functionality.
However, that's all changing. Now, you don't have to be a Premium user to access these features, as YouTube is finally making them available to all users, whether they pay a subscription or not.

YouTube announced in a blog post that it's now rolling out a slew of new features to its app, giving you more control over how you watch videos and easier access to what you really want to see. Previously, the platform tested the ability to long-press on the right half of a video to double the playback speed. Now, it's made the feature even easier, so you can simply long-press anywhere on the player , whether you're watching in full-screen or portrait mode, to do things at 2x speed. Once you get to the point you want, just let go.
Another extremely useful feature smooths out unexpected and annoying audio bursts. YouTube’s new constant volume feature will keep everything even, so you can enjoy your videos without annoying volume fluctuations. It’s enabled by default, but if you want to adjust it, just click the gear icon in the app and go to “Additional settings.”
You can finally say goodbye to that frustrating song stuck in your head. YouTube is introducing a stunning voice recognition feature using artificial intelligence, which can magically identify a song for you when you whisper it, sing it, or even play its melody in the app. Google has been testing something similar. YouTube has been testing this feature since August, and now it's ready for its first release, although it phones Android.
YouTube is also improving your mobile browsing experience with larger previews, allowing you to see more of the videos you're about to watch. Additionally, a lock feature has been added to the video playback scheduler so you don't have to worry about accidental taps and swipes interrupting your viewing.
If you swipe on a video and suddenly change your mind, simply move your finger back to where you started and release it when you feel a vibration to cancel the deletion. Plus, the “Like” and “Subscribe” buttons now have a cool, glowing animation when you tap them.

YouTube has also combined the “Library” tab and account page into a new tab called “You.” In this new tab, you’ll find all of your previously watched videos, playlists, downloads, and purchases, along with your account settings and channel information. The “You” tab now replaces the “Library” tab across all platforms – web, mobile, and tablet.
For smart TV users , YouTube is making it easier to find all the details about the videos you're watching. A new menu has been added that appears with a simple click on the video title, giving you access to the video's description, comments, and record button. YouTube is making the same improvements for web and mobile users .
