In a few months, iOS 17, the new major update to the iPhone operating system, will be available for download.
Apple announced iOS 17 in early June and released a beta version for Apple developers . Now, a public beta is available for users to try out. The company has announced some interesting new features and capabilities, including a new Standby mode, a Journal app, a major update to Messages , and more. Some features will be available immediately after the update is released, while others will be added later.

However, not all iPhone users will be able to install iOS 17 on devices . Some older iPhone models, including the iPhone X from 2017, will not be compatible with the new version of the operating system.

If you're not sure which iPhone you have, you can check phone . Open the Settings and tap General > About. Next to Model Name, you'll see which iPhone you have.

What if your iPhone is not on the compatibility list?
If your iPhone isn't on the list above, it won't support iOS 17, which means you won't get a notification to download the latest software. For example, if you have an iPhone X or older, the latest software you'll be able to use is iOS 16.
However, if you have a compatible model, iOS 17 will bring several improvements and new features that promise to make using the iPhone more comfortable and enjoyable.
