Ofer Ketter, a submarine expert and co-founder of the company Sub-Merge, told the New York Post that the force of the explosion would have instantly turned parts of the submarine into dust grains, as well as the people on board.
"To me, it makes perfect sense that the pressure chamber the passengers were in could not withstand the pressure due to the material it was made of," he said.
«And so it exploded and turned to dust. Anything that was made of titanium or perhaps of another kind of steel survived, and that was what was found».
Ketter said that the five of the Titan submarine were unharmed, as the explosion occurred in less than a thousandth of a second. His comments refer to the announcement of the U.S. Coast Guard in a press conference last week (June 22), where he stated that the recovery of the wrecks would be incredibly difficult.
