Social media has played a crucial role in our lives and continues to evolve, but what happens when you become frustrated with it?

The reason for this is the most famous social networking applications, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat. After research, it appeared that a large percentage are looking to delete one of these applications.

This research was conducted over a 6-month period and showed that more than 900,000 searches were related to how to delete or deactivate Instagram, more than any other app out of the 30 most popular.
This number was more than double the searches made for Facebook, which was the second most searched social media platform, with 385,00 searches over 6 months.

The research was based on the expressions of deleting or deactivating famous social media through keywordtool.io and data from the analysis company Similarweb. The results were:
- Instagram (900,120 searches)
- Facebook (385,410)
- Snapchat (217,400)
- Twitter (92,490)
- Telegram (24,819)
On the other hand, the reason why Instagram and Facebook seem to have the greatest interest in deletion is because they are on so many mobile phones. For example, Instagram for 2022 was the second most downloaded social media with 548 million worldwide compared to TikTok. It doesn't seem like it will disappear anytime soon, however.
However, Facebook saw a decline in public interest and an increase in users in 2022. This is also evident from the surveys that are being conducted, showing that people increasingly do not trust the platforms due to issues of misinformation, cyberbullying, phishing, privacy concerns, and data mining.

Some users are also concerned about the impact they have on the mental health of children and young people. Meta research has shown that excessive use of Facebook and Instagram can have negative effects on young users. While many young people are willing to take a break from social media, they find it difficult to give it up completely.
